Tattooing the inside of the rabbit ears gives a permanent way of identifying one rabbit from the other. It’s also important for good record keeping and pedigrees.
To tattoo the rabbit ears I bought Bass Equipment Grand Champion II tattoo equipment (the standard set). A few rabbit raisers recommended this equipment to me because it’s easy to use, the tattoo is completed all at once and it looks good.

The process of tattooing rabbit ears is simple. It was the crunching sound and obvious discomfort the rabbit felt that bothered me. Thankfully, the tattoo equipment works well, fast and is easy to use.
I will post a picture of some of the tattoos once the ink wears off around it.

Please put EMLA or a numbing cream on the rabbits’ ear before tattooing them. Rabbit ears are very sensitive.
