Starting Over

You know that vest that I was so close to finishing? It was the one that I posted about last week. I frogged it. It seems that I was following the wrong pattern instructions and as a result the vest was enormous! I contemplated finishing it for myself but it was a little small. Note to self: Noro Kureyon is aran weight. I don’t know what I was thinking. 

I’ve had such trouble with knitting my eldest son something. There was a sweater three years ago that I gave up on and then a green vest that never came to be. I’m determined to make something special for him so after unravelling the vest I cast on once again. I love working with Noro yarn so starting over isn’t a bad thing. It just means I get to enjoy working with this yarn a little longer. My son seemed pleased that I am (still) working on his vest.

I haven’t been reading much the last week. I’ve scanned over a few pages in The Mini Farming Guide to Vegetable Gardening and drooled over Cheesemaker’s Apprentice. We’ve been spending much of our time outdoors and my stack of library books is slowly dwindling away as books are returned and few are taken out again.
