A Recapitulation of Sorts

Where to begin. I failed at celebrating St. Patrick’s day with my children yesterday. I had picked out stack of St. Patrick’s day books from the library and even planned a craft, but none of it happened. Instead we did other stuff, none of it particularly fun. But that’s fine because this year St. Patrick’s day will be on Friday, March 21st, didn’t you get the memo? We did have an awesome St. Paddy’s day treasure hunt with our Learning Circle last week, so let’s just say we are celebrating St. Patrick’s day for a week.

Part of the reason we missed out on St. Paddy’s day is that I’ve been selfishly working on projects around the house. Now that the weather is getting all spring-like I’m itching to be outdoors more and more. I know that if I procrastinate on some of these projects they will be set aside for the foreseeable future. I am happy to report that in the last week I have made epic progress on my table top mandala and on that pile of renovation trash sitting in my driveway (a feat in itself!). So please indulge me for a moment as I sit here patting myself on the back.

Now on to other updates. Today our Learning Circle gathered for an egg-speriment, the egg drop experiment to be exact. I was mentor for the experiment and while physics isn’t my strength I was happy to relearn the details of gravitational force (9.81 meters per second squared) for mentorship purposes. The children were very creative and most of the egg protecting devices were able to handle a 4 meters (13 feet) drop without any egg casualties. I wish I had taken a picture of each device before the toss, oh well. Well done everyone!

And, finally, is anyone having troubles viewing my blog? I have been experience problem the last couples days and have asked my IT guy (aka my husband) to look into it. Let me know if you are having any problems.
