Knitted Rabbit

by Josée
I finally got to go to the library this weekend. It had been at least a month since my last visit which partly explains the late charge on my account. I managed to pick up a few books while Jeremie chased after Monkey. So far, my favorite book is one that was suggested to me by my sister-in-law; it’s called: Creative Play for you Toddler: Steiner Waldorf expertise and toy projects for 2-4s. It has instructions for 20 different hand made toys, and seeing that I’ve been feeling particularly crafty lately I immediately started the Knitted Rabbit project (page 16).
I was a little concerned that my rabbit wasn’t going to turn out, but with a little coaching from Jeremie it turned out really cute! Here are a few pictures of my first knitted rabbit. I’m going to start working on a mama rabbit, baby rabbit and felt carrots soon.

Very cute Josee!! Mine didn't turn out quite as nice as yours, I need better wool. What did you stuff him with?

Oh, and do you really think Monkey should be playing with rabbits? Isn't this going to cause some sort of emotional trauma once he realizes what he will be eating for dinner? 😉

p.s. Isn't that book awesome? You have a cool sister in law!

I stuffed the rabbit with a synthetic stuffing. I would have liked to use wool but I haven't had the chance to look around for some.

Well… it's not like we'll be eating the rabbits soon anyways, they still aren't breeding! And when we do start eating them I'll give him a pot to cook his rabbit in 🙂
