Socks for Maman

by Josée

After teaching myself to knit socks (way more complicated than I had expected) I decided that I should try to make a pair for myself. I found a sock pattern on The Purl Bee called Pom Pom Peds that seemed simple enough so I bought some pretty purple and green merino yarn and started to knit. I was surprised by how much faster these socks were to make (compared to my last pair which were half the size!). I didn’t add the pom poms on the socks because they didn’t seem very functional. I finished them today and they are a perfect fit! I’ve affectionately named them my Violets 🙂

Productive much? Geesh! "yeah, I just taught myself to knit, you know, just because I can…" Josee. Putting us all to shame 😉
WAY TO GO!

Thanks Frances 😉 Much hair was lost and many tears were shed in the process (lol) but its given something for me to work on these last few weeks. Next time I think I'll join some sort of class instead of trying to teach myself 🙂

Good job Josee!! Those look fantastic! A friend of mine just started a knitting group, we are going to meet at a local coffee shop and knit in the evening, maybe I will finish my second mitten!

What is your next project?

I think I'll try knitting another pair of socks but I have a few other projects on the go that I'd like to finish first.
