Our Summer Olympics

by Josée

Have you been watching the Summer Olympics? I have, but only in small doses because every time things get tense I get goosebumps.

Whenever I see athletes competing I get motivated to try a new sport. I usually start by searching for “good sports for small people” on the internet and peruse through the small list. I might try distance running or maybe distance biking. My father is small and this is what he’s been doing as he trains for the Subaru Ironman at the end of August. I think I’m past my prime for gymnastics. I tried a cartwheel today and my groin felt pretty sore the rest of the day. I would like to learn how to swim properly, doggy paddling is hardly swimming.

As I was wondering which sport I should get into, my little ones where having their own Summer Olympics in the front yard. They were rolling around on the grass doing summersaults. Eventually Sweetpea was doing some amazing high jumps, with a little help of course.

Wow!! Looks like fun.

Haven't been watching too much of the Olympics, but I will tune in for the mens triathlon. I am a two time Ironman finisher, good luck to your dad, it is amazing!!!
