Five Favourites (vol. 2)

by Josée

Yesterday was a special day for Catholics worldwide, we have a Pope! Habemus Papam! Watching Pope Francis walk on to the balcony and address the crowds in Vatican square was beautiful. His calm, humble and prayerful demeanour made my heart melt. It is exciting to have our first Pope from the Americas and his passion to live simply and advocate for social justice issues makes me very enthusiastic.

I want to learn how to quilt! How do you have time to do it with three kids?? I've been sewing the same yoga pants together for 3 weeks….

And I just saved that soup to my meal planner. I was just looking at the coconut milk in my pantry and wondering what to do with it. Problem solved!!! (beautiful photos btw)

What type of a grain grinder do you use? My parents have a hand stone grinder….I'm going to borrow it next time I see them…but I'm thinking that grinding by hand may get really impractical after a while. What do you think/recommend?

I have a Porkert which is a hand mill. It takes a lot of time and effort to grind wheat. Yes, its' very impractical. I recommend getting Komo mill (http://fieldstoneorganics.ca/products/mills-flakers.php) if can afford one (it's on my wish list) or a strong husband that doesn't mind grinding wheat by hand in exchange for some delicious bread 🙂
