Freak’n Little Farmers

by Josée

When I signed our eldest son up for the Freak’n Little Farmers obstacle course he wasn’t sure about participating. He worried that his recent injuries, a scrapped knee and cut on his thumb, would slow him down. After explaining that we have a hefty supply of bandaids and he could wear his bathing suit and water shoes, he accepted the challenge, still somewhat hesitant. His reluctance vanished the moment we arrived at the obstacle course which was set up at Covert Farms. Not only were some of his friends there but the course looked fun. He was registered in the 3 to 6 year old group (the mini freak’n farmers) and had to complete a variety of farm inspired obstacles. There was mud, melons and water. How can a child resist such fun? I admit that I wanted to run the course too, so naturally there was some talk about doing the Freak’n Farmer race next year.

Can we come and do it with you next year?! Little did we know until last night that two of our friends went to oliver for the weekend to register and were in the competition too! We were needless to say, a bit jealous since it looked like so much fun 🙂
