Sunset at Nai Harn Beach

Our first priority this morning was remedying our empty fridge. With thirteen people in one house there has to be food, and lots of it! A few adults, myself included, set out after breakfast to purchase food for the next while. We stopped in a Makro, a bulk food store, to stock up and anything we could not find there we picked up at Tesco Lotus. We returned home with a good haul of food but I will not be surprised to find the fridge empty again soon.

After spending most of the day close to home we ventured out to Nai Harn beach to watch the sun set. As we pulled up to the beach I was surprised by the amount of people lounging about. I think we were rather spoiled when visiting the quiet shady beach of Ao Manao in Prachuap Kiri Khan. Nai Harn is a large beautiful beach but what makes this beach unique is that there is a fresh water lagoon that flows into the sea via a channel. Our children enjoyed playing up and down the channel and rolling in the waves of the sea. I can see why this beach is popular among families even though there is not too much shade there.

As the sun set it cast beautiful colours in the sky and a glow of orange over everything. It was nice to shed our hats and feel the sun’s final kiss before it slipped away for the night.
