Playa Manzanillo is located just east of Puerto Angelito. At first I thought they were both the same beach but they are separated by an outcroping of rocks. Now that we have had the chance to visit several beaches in and around Puerto Escondido I am noticing that each beach has its own vibe. When we first arrived at Playa Manzanillo the locals were aggressive in trying to get our business. The moment we parked our car we had to politely decline several offers. The beach itself is covered by a short row of palapas, serving simple food and drinks, as well as several fishing boats. The sand is a little rocky near the edge of the water but otherwise it is good place for swimming and one of my favourite spots for offshore snorkeling. The best snorkeling is among the rocks to the left of the beach, when looking out to sea. Among these rocks I encountered a variety of fish and enormous schools of fish as well. It was breathtaking!
