Garden Journal (vol. 7) – Guest Post

by Josée

As my wife is enjoying the lovely weather in Prince George, I’m stuck here in the South Okanagan where we’ve had a particularly long stretch of overcast rainy weather. On the plus side this means the gardens tend to take care of themselves a bit more since they don’t dry out so fast. On the negative side my bike rides to work are a little wet.
The gardens seem to be doing quite nicely and we are even starting to see a little bit of raspberries and tomatoes! You’ll also notice that we picked up a few fruit trees (two apples and one peach) that we yet to plant. I’m waiting till the family gets back home before we plant those ones.
Also, can someone remind me what the plant in the last picture is? (Josée adds: it’s spinach that’s going to seed) I vaguely recall Josée mentioning something about them flowering, but I’m not exactly sure what that was.

Jeremie did you really not know that was spinach!? That's so funny!!

I am *so* jealous of your peach tree, how exciting. I was eyeing up the northern plum trees at Costco this spring, I think we are going to buy a couple next year and see how they do.
